learning reflections 9-30-13
This marking period Ms. Butera introduced us to a segment called "Blogging". At first it was tricky because i fell behind on my blogs and was so concern with designing my blog that i forgot all about the writing part. Customizing my blog was by far my favorite part of creating our Learning Reflection Blogs. All the different colors and fonts made my blog very pretty. I learned all about netiquette and how we as a student should present our selves on the internet.

Netiquette
Netiquette is the correct or acceptable way of communicating on the Internet. It is important to have good netiquette because what you put on the internet will stay on the internet and will never leave. Places where netiquette would be needed is on Facebook, Insagram, Twitter, Tumblr and any other blogs/social networks that you use. Honestly i dont think that my netiquette is where it should be but i plan on fixing it and learning from my mistakes.
Digital Footprint
A digital footprint is the data trace or trail left by someone's activity in a digital environment. Digital footprints are the capture in an electronic fashion of memories and moments and are built from the interaction with TV, mobile phone, world wide web, internet, mobile web and other digital equipment. In my own words this means that colleges/work places will be Googleing your name and what they search should be positive examples no half naked pictures of you in the club that is not what Facebook, twitter and Instagram is for. When creating a social network makes sure you know the risks of adding your information to the website. Be sure to have your parents consent and don't just add/follow anybody that sends you a request its good to know them. The way i could improve my digital footprint is for me to delete my facebook because i am never on it and if somebody had to judge me off only my Facebook i would not be criticized positively.
Academic Integrity
Today we watched a video about plagiarism and how dangerous it could be do your future as a student. If you use an idea from somebody and did not cite it that is called cheating. Your paper/essay should not contain more than 20% of research or other peoples work. Its very important that you don't plagiarize, we as students should take pride in what we write and submit our OWN work not copy and pasted material.

Blog Post 1 - Blogging
I don't know much about blogging all i know is that people put some of their personal thoughts. I have never blogged outside of school and I don't have a twitter. Today is my first day blogging and I guess it will be just like twitter. Blogging is a discussion or informational site, you would first make your blog and start typing about any topics you wish to for example if a college student wrote tips about high school for a freshman who is just starting high school that was be an informational blog. I would say that blogging is much more safer than Facebook and Twitter you could choose what you want to talk about rather than seeing negative comments or pictures from her friends/mutual friends. Blogging is an interactive form of publishing on the world wide wide, the act of blogging dates back to the 1990`s.
